Discover Barcelona through the work of Gaudí
“In the middle of the Eixample neighborhood, on the Passeig de Gràcia avenue, we find the most colorful and well-known of Antoni Gaudí’s houses. On one side, on the corner of Provença street, is Casa Milà, the famous Pedrera building, with its undulating shapes reminiscent of waves. Further down is Casa Batlló, a metaphor for the legend of Saint George. Meanwhile, across town we can find Gaudí’s masterpiece, the Sagrada Família church, a still unfinished structural bible that has become a major symbol of Barcelona.
Yet that is not all there is to Gaudí. Parc Güell is an indispensable element in understanding how Gaudí blended nature and architecture. The entrance pavilions to the Güell estate, near the Pedralbes Palace, the crypt of the Colònia Güell church or the Güell Palace, on Nou de la Rambla street, bear the name of his main patron, Eusebi Güell.
Casa Calvet, the surprising Casa Vicens, or the Torre Bellesguard, are other examples we can admire in Barcelona, as well as the little-known Col·legi de les Teresianes, a splendid building located in the Sarrià neighborhood. Barcelona is the city of Gaudí, as the place where the universal genius left his unique mark.”
PROGRAM
Each group is accompanied by a local guide. We will make our way around on foot, by bicycle, in 4×4 big foots or 4×4 convertibles, by bus or public transport, or a combination of all of them, depending on the final number of participants.
The objective is to visit several Gaudí sites (Parc Güell, Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera), where we will be offered information about Gaudí’s life and his works.
Group members will have a map and some envelopes with questions as well as clues they will need to solve at certain points. This is a good way to mix culture and fun.
Note: The test can be customized with material and information about your company.
